The role of Trustees
Our Trustees embody a wealth of specialist knowledge, skills and experience. Their collective discernment, wisdom and foresight ensures the Trust stays true to itself and its responsibilities.

What we are looking for
The Youth Advisory Board members bring a vital energy, enthusiasm and unique viewpoint to our activities. Having worked alongside Trustees as part of the Influencers Schemes, here’s who they’d like us to recruit:
We’d like our new Trustee to be someone who sees engaging with young people as a priority, with a track record of this in their careers.
…someone with a passion for the environment and a willingness to engage in new opportunities and projects that engage young people.
I am particularly supportive of the Trust using its assets strategically to promote its charitable ambitions, and championing opportunities and programmes aimed at the very urgent need to give young people access to the countryside and nature.
I defy anyone to be a Trustee of The Ernest Cook Trust and not to learn something. It is so diverse, whether it’s talking to headteachers about the challenges and the benefits of a countryside education to learning from tenant farmers, there is just such a breadth of contacts across the whole organisation. This learning is really refreshing and probably what I have enjoyed most from my time as a Trustee.
